What to Expect
Sunday Worship Service
Sunday mornings begin with our Sunday School hour from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Nursery is provided, there are classes for all of the kids, as well as youth, young adults, adults, and often an elective bible study as well. Our worship service begins at 10:00 and typically concludes by 11:30.
Sunday Evening
Typically, the study on Sunday Evening lasts about an hour, many are discussion-based studies where we walk through a topic and look into the Word together. Sunday evenings at Harvest are very laid back with a family fellowship environment. Nursery is provided for newborns through age 3, and often the teens will meet briefly after the study concludes.
Wednesday Night
Wednesday nights at Harvest are busy with something for the whole family! Adults have a study from 6:30-7:15 pm with a time of prayer to follow. Our Frontline club for kids meets most Wednesday nights during the school year from 6:30-7:45. Youth group meets during this same time for games, fellowship, study in the Word, and prayer. We also offer a Foundations Study on Wednesday nights for those interested in learning more about the Bible and the beliefs of Harvest.
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the preaching like?
We seek to accurately preach what the Bible says. We desire to take the life giving and changing truths of the Word and explain and apply them to our hearts so that we might be changed into His likeness for His glory. We encourage you to check out the messages of Harvest on our YouTube page HBC Williamsburg.
What’s the music like?
We desire that our time of singing be centered upon the glorious truths of the Word and be a time where all are encouraged to lift their voice in praise and thanksgiving to the Lord, as we direct our eyes and heart to Him. We select songs in keeping with that desire that are both older and more recent. Worship at Harvest is generally accompanied by guitar(s), piano, and other various instruments.
Is there anything available for my kids?
Yes! During the Sunday morning worship service, after the singing, children through 1st grade have the opportunity to be dismissed to children’s church for the remainder of the service. Children’s church will often include songs, a bible story, a snack and activity. Wednesday nights have something for the whole family, all ages. Frontline ministry during the school year for kids through 6th grade, youth group for the teens, and bible study/prayer for the adults.
Will I be required or asked to give?
No! We do have an offering time each Sunday where the plate is passed for those who want to give towards the ministry of Harvest. But the focus of that time in our service is not upon money. We do encourage people to give at Harvest, but what we encourage them to give is that which the Lord desires most from us, and that’s not our money but our hearts!
What should I wear?
There is no dress code, you will find on any given Sunday some people dressed casually and others dressed up a bit more. We encourage you to just come and hope to make you feel welcome!
